Keto and Healthy Living ( WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD) by The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik
So since Annie and I have been doing a Keto Lifestyle I find myself picking up foods and reading the ingredients. I am looking at Carbs, Sugars, Calories, and other nutritional information. Sometimes it hard to believe what is listed on the package and that I would want to consume that food. However with modern times and the changes in the world today our entire food sources have changed as well.
This blog points out more of WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD and some FACTS about the FOOD we EAT!
WHAT IS IN OUR FOOD TODAY:
HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP (HFCS)
This is a sweetener that is used in most food in the USA.
Unfortunately it has been linked to weight gain, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.
MODIFIED FOODS:
It is estimated that upwards of 75% of our food is genetically modified.
Foods today contain two digestible types Starch and Surcrose (White Sugar) and are found in almost all foods.
CHEMICALS:
In 2019 studies and research showed that 90% of humans have some form of Chemicals from eating grown fruits and vegetables.
More than 1.1 billion pounds are sprayed on foods in the USA every year.
POLLUTION and our FOOD:
Everything we do as humans has a price and the more pollution that we spread across planet Earth the more pollution filters down to the very food we eat. This also goes for all living creatures on planet Earth.
Research and studies show 91% of Earth is exposed to some type of pollution.
In 2020 Denmark was named the cleanest country and Bangladesh was named the worst polluted country.
HOW MUCH FOOD IS PRODUCED IN THE USA:
The USA is the worlds largest producer of Corn, 3rd worlds largest producer of Wheat, 5th largest producer of Potatoes, 10th largest producer of Sugarcane, 12th largest producer of Rice.
FOOD and POPULATION:
Currently the world produces enough food to feed 10 billion humans, and currently the population of the world is estimated at 7.6 billion. Some researchers and studies estimate that by 2050 the population will increases by 35 percent and that crop production would need to double to feed that amount of humans.
Closing out this blog I am sure your asking yourself how do I even Eat Healthy and live Happy?
More education and learning from humans is happening though we can not repair damages we have done to Mother Earth we can prevent more damages and pollution. Try to find foods grown at a local farm or market that does not use chemicals, try to find meats that have been raised on natural foods and not genetically altered. Research and study what you eat and you can live a happy healthy life!
