It is 2022 and ENTERTAINMENT WRESTLING is more popular than ever.
In 2021 the top company called WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) grossed revues of 1,1 Billion dollars. The WWE has been around since 1953 though it changed names a few times during that time. It is the only company that has stock on the NYSE currently around $62 per share. Currently has two shows on USA and one show on Fox. Recently the company made a deal with Peacock to stream videos, shows, and pay per views.
HOW DOES THE WWE MAKE THE MONEY YOU ASK ?
85% of the company makes the money from Network and Television segments, the other money is made from merchandise sales, live events, and other sources.
The WWE broadcast to 180 countries and in 30 languages and can be seen in over 1 billion households worldwide each week. It is estimated that WWE has 11 million fans in the USA.
For a long time WWE ruled the Wrestling Entertainment Industry however a new company has emerged called AEW ( All Elite Wrestling). AEW emerged in 2019 with owner Tony Khan.
Since that time AEW has been building the company. Recently AEW bought our ROH (Ring Of Honor).
AEW can be found on major TV Channels TBS, and TNT.
In 2021 it was reported AEW made revenues of 84 million dollars. This would make AEW/ROH the only main competition for the WWE. Recently some of the WWE roster has moved over to the AEW brand, and some of the AEW roster has moved over to the WWE Brand.
AEW also just announced a new deal with NJPW (New Japan Pro Wrestling) for a pay per view that will feature both companies. This is pretty uncommon in the wrestling industry so it is big news for both companies.
In the USA there are several entertainment wrestling companies and many worldwide.
In the USA the top companies are:
WWE, AEW/ROH, MLW ( Major League Wrestling), NWA (National Wrestling Alliance), and Impact Wrestling
