National Pole Vault Summit
This year, we at Outlaw Sports Entertainment, had the privilege of attending the annual UCS Spirit National Pole Vault Summit. An event, spanning over two nights, that has occured in the Reno Livestock Event Center since early 2013.
The 2018 event took course on January 12th and 13th, showcasing Intermediate and Elite athletes from all over the world. Participants included fan favorites from prior years, Idaho's All-American Mike Arnolds and Lafayette High's Mondo Duplantis, as well as 2016 and 2017 Silver Medalist Sandi Morris.
While attending, we were able to witness a record being set by the aforementioned Mondo Duplantis, coming in the first place over fellow vaulters Devin King and Scott Houston, as the Summit's first eighteen year old to make the 19 foot jump. Another record for the Summit was set by Sandi Morris, who came in first place at 16 and 3/4, making her the Nation Woman's Champion.
