How a REFEREE could rig any game !
Several sports use a referee and you could make a case from the history of sports that referees could change a game in several ways. So lets discuss some of the ways a referee could affect a game.
BAD CALLS:
Even in these modern times with instant replay often the referee call stands. So if a referee wanted to mess with a game he or she could make bad calls. There already is evidence in all four major sports leagues that referees make bad calls. Sometimes these calls or reversed but are these calls done intentionally or are they really just a mistake?
An argument could be made that this is the case there is no evidence to support that is does not happen intentionally.
CALLING FOULS OR ASSERTING PENALTIES EVEN THOUGH THERE WAS NONE:
Going with bad calls referees could change an entire game by calling fouls or assessing penalties for offenses by a team. In doing so an entire game could be changed. There is evidence that this could be the case in several sports and leagues. There is sometimes no way of telling if a referee made the correct call or if they are intentionally making calls against a team.
MESSING WITH EQUIPMENT OR BALLS:
Face it the last Playoffs in the NFL this showed referees can change balls with airing them up or down. Referees can also allow or dismissal certain equipment. Once again changing the outcome of a game. There is substantial evidence in several sports this does happen.
TOSSING PLAYERS OR COACHES OUT:
Referees have the power to toss players out of a game or even tossing coaches, owners, and other staff members out of games. Depending on who is tossed it could change a game. Do they have a good reason or is it questionable what the referee is doing?
REVERSING OR NOT REVERSING CALLS:
Have you ever sat and watched a game and known a play should have been reversed or not. One call can change an entire game. Referees hold all the power here as well. There is substantial evidence in many sports this happens.
FAVORITISM OF A TEAM:
Often sports teams use local referees so it is possible they use the power as favoritism to the home team or team they like. There is evidence this happens in many leagues as well.
BEING PAID OFF BY A TEAM:
How do you prove a referee has not been paid off or bribed by a team.
GAMBLING ON A GAME:
Who is to prove or disprove a referee has made a wager on the game and is making calls to make sure his or her wager wins.
In closing my blog I post this thought look at years of evidence and history the referees hold the best position to affect the outcome of any sports that use a referee.
