Door Dash and the New Pay Rate plus Tips

Are you a DOOR DASH DRIVER than you better hang on because DOOR DASH has made a huge cut in the pay scale.

Since Early 2018 almost 1 year ago I started to research and blog about DOOR DASH.
I joined the company and did several videos and blogs if you wish to look them up.

Recently DOOR DASH made some major changes.

In the RENO/SPARKS area where I live DOOR DASH made salary changes and area changes.

Door Dash broke the area into the following areas:
SUN VALLEY
SPARKS
RENO
SOUTH RENO 
CARSON CITY
LAKE TAHOE
The company started this would open more schedules and open more opportunities but in my opinion it just has created more issues for the drivers. I say this from experience you can be in one area and deliver to another area, but than you can not get any jobs unless you go back to your area.
To many times you go out of the area you want to be in.
Once you go from Area A to Area B the jobs stop even if it is busy in the AREA you signed into.
I find it extremely frustrating having to end dashes, re starting them if the area is even busy.
Sometimes you have to end a dash than you can not get back on because there is NO WORK!

IS THERE ENOUGH JOBS IN RENO and SPARKS?
I have noticed more and more it seems that jobs are not available though DOOR DASH.
Door Dash recently signed Mcdonalds, and Burger King.
However it still seems DOOR DASH does not really have enough work per the amount of delivery drivers in the area.
I see the APP in the grey to many times meaning NO WORK.
Also it is extremely hard to get on the schedule ahead of time as well.
You have to ask if there is enough work per the amount of delivery drivers in the area?

PAY FOR DOOR DASH:
Another recent change after backlash from the Drivers about the TIPS and TIP policy.
Door Dash was giving the drivers $7 per delivery and taking the tips and adding  additional money to deliveries that took extra time or had a longer distance.
However drivers backlashed at the company about this policy.
DOOR DASH DELIVERED a smashing blow.
In RENO/SPARKS area the base pay for a delivery is currently maxed out at $2.
The customer gives you tips, than the base pay is added in.
This is what you get paid for the delivery.
Recently I got a delivery that paid as low as $3.50 cents.
Most of the Deliveries are going below $5,00 even with the tips included.
Door Dash does sometimes offer additional bonus periods and added money during busy times but these are far and few.
However with GAS cost in the area going up close to $3.77 per gallon the pay change could have a big impact for drivers.

HOW LONG DOES A DELIVERY TAKE AND HOW MUCH DOES IT PAY?
Door Dash is a bit different because the customer can order outside the app, they can literally order from anywhere but at some places you the driver have to place the order.
In my experience I have waited up to 45 minutes just for the food and it took an hour just for one delivery.
In some of the experiments we did it came down to 2 to 3 deliveries per hour.
Each delivery taking between 20 to 30 minutes.
In my experiences before the change a person should make around $15 per hour with no tips.
