Unemployment and why it really sucks
I am one who believes unemployment needs to be changed. After all we the workers pay into the system and what if you never use it where does all the money go and how much money are we talking about?
A recent report from the Bureau of Labor showed the following:
US unemployment rate fell to 4.7 percent in February 2017 from 4.8 percent in the previous month, in line with market expectations. ... The number of unemployed persons was nearly unchanged at 7.5 million while the labor force participation rate increased by 0.1 percentage point to 62.7 percent.
How unemployment works is you get laid off fired or quit your unemployment does not just kick in first you have to file it then you have to report it on a weekly bases. Do not expect anything fast however if you get a interview by what is called an Adjudicator with-in three weeks you be lucky and this person will decide the fate of your unemployment and where it will go from there.
If you were laid off most likely your ok but if you quit or terminated the decision will most likely go in favor of the employer. Than after that you can appeal the decision but you most likely have to wait for a few more weeks or even up to a month for a hearing.
Even then it is nearly impossible to fight the system.

How Unemployment Money is obtained:
It's raised through state and federal unemployment insurance taxes on employers. The federal tax is 6.2 percent on the first $7,000 in annual wages to each employee. State tax rates vary from state to state, as does the amount of each worker's income that's subject to the tax — which ranges from $7,000 to $34,000.How unemployment works is you get laid off fired or quit your unemployment does not just kick in first you have to file it then you have to report it on a weekly bases.
