Tomsik Delivery Company NEWS and UPDATES in the DELIVERY INDUSTRY
Hello from The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik and Tomsik Delivery Company. It has been quite a while since I have done anything with my delivery company however I wanted to give you some news and updates in the delivery industry as Covid 19 Virus restrictions are lifting.
WALMART:
Walmart is starting new programs across the country to deliver under Independent Contractors for Walmart. You may start to see Walmart advertise for the positions in your city and town soon. Walmart also uses Doordash but I see this soon ending because Walmart started doing deliveries during this pandemic and the company saw a need for the service. However it is still as an independent contractor not as a Walmart Employee though rumors have it that may change as well.
AMAZON PRIME:
Amazon Prime also is doing the delivery business in hiring employees and using Independent Contractors. Recently Amazon released a program called FLEX DRIVERS, you may see some ads in your area soon.
DOORDASH:
Doordash remains on top of the food delivery business. Though Doordash may be facing more competition with Walmart and Amazon for food and package deliveries.
Doordash is the top food delivery company in the USA.
UBER EATS:
Uber Eats is the food delivery part of Uber though it has not become as big as Doordash it is second runner up for the food delivery industry.
Uber Eats also bought out POSTMATES.
UBER PASSENGER RIDES:
Uber remains the top company for passenger transportation in may cities.
Uber and Lyft are facing many issues in different States however over using contractors or if contractors should be employees.
LYFT:
Lyft runs second to Uber in the passenger transportation but Lyft had been rumored to start food delivery. The company has not to this date followed through with that program however.
Uber and Lyft are facing many issues in different States however over using contractors or if contractors should be employees.
GRUB HUB:
Grub Hub has taken a back door to Doordash and Uber Eats. Though Grub Hub is still going it is more popular overseas than in America. The company still has potions available for contractors.
FED X:
Federal Express is the top company for deliveries. Though they do not hire contractors there are plenty of employment opportunities with this company. Fed X ground does use outside companies that are contracted with Fed X so you may see these companies advertise positions with Fed X.
UPS:
Ups also sits on top of the package delivery industry and currently has positions available in many towns and cities.
USPS:
One thing the Covid 19 Virus did was probably save the US Postal Service. The USPS was on the verge of going under but since the pandemic they have been assisting Fed X, and seen an increase of deliveries. You can always check your local area to see if the postal service in your area has positions.
FOOD DELIVERY TO GROW EVEN MORE:
According to agencies that follow industries a prediction that FOOD DELIVERY will countinue to grow all the way into 2024. As more self driving vehicles, drones and alternative delivery services become available to the industry it is predicted to grow by nearly 14% per year.
MORE FAST FOOD AND RESTAURANTS GOING SELF DELIVERY:
One thing the food industry learned so far during this pandemic was that delivery was a viable solution to having no customers in the restaurant. Some of the companies that had contracts with companies like Door Dash, Uber Eats, Grub Hub ventured into doing deliveries through the company and not a third party. Both Fast Food and Dinners/Restaurants discovered the need for delivery.
However instead of contracting outside companies they moved to delivery with in the company. This trend will most likely increase as well even with restrictions lifting the customers liked the service. You most likely see more companies going to doing deliveries them self.
Eventually this could hurt companies like DoorDash, Uber Eats, and Grub Hub.
SMALLER LOCAL COMPANIES ARE DOING DELIVERIES:
Walmart and Amazon are not the only companies going delivery some smaller food chains, food stores, and pharmacies have all begun delivery services. Many smaller food stores or local companies have jumped on the delivery bandwagon.
CLOSING:
Covid 19 has not ended but many places are lifting restrictions we may see customers back in restaurants and fast food places, however it is probably a change that is going to be forever in the delivery industry.
