Tired of the Maze for Employment

When a person is looking for a job, it's bad enough you go through the relentless process of multiple applications, wondering if the employer even got our resume or online application, or why no one ever called back.

It sometimes leaves you dazed and confused along with frustrated.

Here are some more issues that you may experience in filling out applications:

Each application or web page is different.

You can't copy or paste your information.

There are so many different formats and websites that lead you to a position.

You end up with an annoying maze of endless applications and time spent searching for the position you want.

I need to find a new job, not more flusteration.

Before technology and computers you walked in a business meet with an actual person, sat down to an interview, and hopefully walked out with a new job.

These days however with multiple websites, job search engines, online applications you do not even get an email, call back , or have any idea if your application ended up on the desk of the HR person hiring for the position.

Maybe we could get paid for our time searching, seeking, and applying for positions that would be amazing!

After searching, trolling, seeking, filling out applications, clicking and emailing.

One hundred pages later, we have a winner!!!

I say this with some frustration and allowing my sense of humor to kick in!

Computers and technology have advantages but it is frustrating because sending applications and resumes online and then you never get any responses,  or finding out it was a scam, or you have no idea how many applications this company got for this position. there are multiple web pages that list jobs, and there is no way of really telling if a company is really hiring.

Sometimes companies just seek recruiting applicants and are not actually hiring.

The companies do not call back, email or even respond a lot of the times leaving you to ask:

Is it me, os it my resume, or what am I doing wrong?

It is most likely is not you, most likely not your resume, and most likely you are doing everything you can to obtain employment.

So how do you end the Maze of looking for employment.

Seeking employment is a full time venture itself.

They say to find a job you should put in the same amount of hours that you normally would work.

This would involve doing all the frustrating things we listed above, filling out applications, sending emails, and calling the company and finding out if they got your resume.

Research the company do they actually have a position.

Finding in person interviews like at job fairs, enrolling in your local unemployment office, seeking jobs in markets that may not advertise positions.

Find out if the companies have an HR office and contact them.

Find out if the companies have in person interviews many companies are doing days where they do in person interviews.

Maybe it is good idea to look at the position or career you want is it in demand, do you have experience and training for the position. It may be a good time to consider training to do something else, possibly entertain going back to school, or expanding on your current skills.

Is it possible to do self employment, or turning a hobby or side hustle into a full time career.

The Maze for employment is not a clear cut road it is a maze and you will need to figure out your path to the position and career you want and desire.
