Have you thought about delivery driving or have you recently signed up or you are considering delivery with DOORDASH in Springfield Missouri than you should read this blog first.
So before I start let me tell you how I got started and my background in the Delivery Business.
It was 2017 and my family was living in Reno Nevada and a friend of mine challenged me to review and research two companies called Uber and DoorDash. My first post here on blogger was on Sept 23rd 2018.
I incorporated help from my wife Annie Tomsik and it all started. I signed up with both companies and we started doing deliveries and passenger pick ups. Since than I have written several blogs on the subject and even produced a YOUTUBE channel called It is All about Delivery and Ride Share Business.
You can click the link above.
We researched the companies from the ground up, we did experiments, had contest, compared the companies and Started doing Videos in March 2019.
Since then I have done 757 deliveries on Doordash, held a 4.65 Customer Rating, a 73% Acceptance Rate, and 87% On Time or early Rating, and a 100% Completion Rating.
I was asked by DoorDash in Reno to be an area representative for drivers as well but I moved and had to pass on the position.
HOW DOES DOORDASH WORK :
DoorDash hires Independent Contractors to deliver food from local restaurants and food stores to customers.
DoorDash uses a PHONE APP you have to download to be a delivery driver.
DoorDash also issues drivers a RED CARD to use to pay for food sometimes.
You get paid by DOORDASH through the APP, pay is $2 min per delivery plus tips from the customers.
DoorDash does not hold Social Security, Federal or State Taxes, Unemployment Taxes from your pay.
As a Driver you are rated on the APP in these areas: Average Customer Rating, Acceptance Rate, Completion Rate, On Time or Early.
These ratings are important the better you keep them the more opportunities you will see.
You can schedule shifts on the app if available or choose to what is called DASH NOW, but to to this the area your in must be busy.
There is a map on the app and it turns from light red to dark depending on how busy it is in your area.
The DASH NOW will light up when it is busy in a particular area.
DoorDash has no limits on how many drivers are in one area, matter of fact the company does not release this information, nor does the company release how much work is available in that area either.
There are no limits on how many hours you can drive in a day, and you can drive everyday if you want, and if work is available. Peak times are Lunch and dinner, but Doordash also works with Walmart and here in Springfield the Hy Vee Food Store.
There is news Doordash will be working with CVC and Walgreens soon as well.
HOW MUCH CAN I EXPECT TO MAKE ON DOORDASH:
Each area is different and it is hard to calculate or speculate this because of the tips from customers.
In my research I discovered that an average delivery takes from 20 to 30 minutes to get to the restaurant, get the food, and deliver it to the customer.
So based on that information you can usually expect to do about 2 to 3 deliveries per hour if the work is available.
Based on this information and the fact you are guaranteed a minimum of $2 per delivery I could only tell you that you would certainly make $4 to $6 per hour.
After that it will depend on your tips.
