THE END GAME MOVIE REVIEW by THE OUTLAW MICHEAL TOMSIK
SPOILER ALERTS IN THIS BLOG SO DO NOT READ IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE!
At some point in time you knew Marvel was going to end the whole series of movies and THE END GAME is exactly that the end of an era of Marvel comic movies. Many fans and movie buffs alike have watched several of the movies leading up to THE END GAME.
So lets go back to the the movies that lead to all of this starting with AGE OF ULTRON that lead the story into AVENGERS INFINITY WAR, that directly goes into THE END GAME.
If you have not seen the other two movies you most likely will be lost in this movie entirely.
RECAP AND SPOILER ALERT:
In Avengers Infinity War Thanos manages to get all the Infinity Stones and creates a glove
to harness the power and uses them to wipe out 1/2 of the entire species of every planet and galaxy in the world.
In the end of the movie people are shown turning to dust.
Than Thanos returns to his home planet.
ANT MAN AND THE WASP:
Also you had to watch Ant Man and the Wasp to understand how Ant Man got stuck in the quantum realm.
AGAIN DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT FOR THE END GAME IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN THE MOVIE!
I watched to movie on 4/26/2019 at Cinamarx movie theater here in Reno Nevada to a packed audience I may add. The crowd cheered at certain points in the movie!
THE START OF THE MOVIE:
The Movie starts out with Clint Barton with his family at home on the farm.
Than his family turns to dust and he is left wondering what just happened.
Tony Stark is stuck on space on a ship with Nybula ( Thanos robot daughter).
On Earth Captain America, Thor, Rocket Racoon, War Machine, Black Widow, all are still attempting to find a way to bring everyone back and correct the things that have been done.
In space Tony Stark is running out of oxygen and is just about to die when Captain Marvel rescues him and returns him to Earth. At this point in time they discover Thanos location after he uses the Infinity Stones again. As a team they go find Thanos and discover that he has destroyed the glove and the stones. Thor in a rage of aggression chops Thanos head off and kills Thanos.
However the team is unable to fix anything that Thanos had done to this point in time.
FORWARD IN TIME:
The movie jumps FIVE YEARS into the future where as the mighty Avengers have all but given up hope.
However a van that had the equipment that Ant Man had been stuck in the quantum realm gets turned on by a rat of all things. Ant Man is tossed back into a world he knows nothing about what has happened. He slowly discovers what happened and finds Captain America and the team and proposes an idea of Time Travel.
The team with many issues of there own seek out Tony Stark for help, but at first Tony wants nothing to do with the idea. He has a family with Pepper Pots and seems content on that.
So the team seeks another person whom turns out to be the Hulk.
Two things I found disturbing at this point in the movie:
In my opinion Thor is played badly in this role.
Also the team has to go find Thor.
Thor and his people have a small village along the ocean on Earth.
Thor however has become a beer belly drunk.
He has locked himself in a cabin and drinks lots of beer and plays video games.
I can fathom why you would want to play Thor like this.
However later in the movie he begins to be Thor again.
I am gonna strait up tell you in my opinion I do not like the Hulk in this role. They made the Hulk more of a combo of Banner and Hulk even though he keeps his green appearance his whole attitude and determiner are way different. Though he plays a crucial role in this movie I just can not wrap my head around this Hulk.
TIME TRAVEL:
The team with the new Hulk and Thor start working on the possibility of a Time Jump. They do make some successes but it is not until Tony Stark arrives and begins to help that it becomes possible.
SIDE NOTE:
Captain Marvel is off helping other worlds and universes at this point in time.
SIDE NOTE #2:
Even though Thor killed Thanos he is still alive in the past.
THE PLAN:
The idea of the team is to travel back in time and collect the stones and use them to turn everything right and return the stones to the original locations. They decide to break up into three teams and go after the stones in the past. Meanwhile they also make a new glove to harness the stones and use the power of them all together to change things back.
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:
Each team goes out to collect the stones in a certain time line and each team runs into various issues. The saddest part is probably the Soul Stone however.
To get this stone a person must die and in this case it is the BLACK WIDOW who goes there with Clint Barton.
Also Captain America and Tony Stark with Ant Man run into a issue and are forced to make an extra Time Jump to collect the stones.
THE TWIST:
During all this Thanos learns of the plan through use of Nybula in the future whom is connected with herself in the past. Thanos also starts a plan to stop the team from accomplishing the mission.
MISSION COMPLETE:
All seems good when everyone finally returns to the present time line with all the stones and they are put in the glove created by the team.
THE UNKNOWN FACTOR:
Nybula (PAST) conceals herself and helps Thanos come to Earth again.
Nybula (FUTURE) and Gomora stop the double cross.
SIDE NOTE:
I had a little issue with Gomora because she was killed in the last movie by Thanos to get the Souls Stone. I do not understand how she can come back but not the Black Widow.
HULK AND THE GLOVE:
Hulk is appointed to put the glove on and bring everyone back that had been vanished.
Hulk had to remove the glove after that because it was killing him however.
SIDE NOTE:
This really makes no sense at this point. In the prior movie Thanos used the stones and glove and never had any issues from using them. Only when Thanos destroyed the old glove and stones did he nearly get killed before Thor killed him. It really did not make sense that Hulk got hurt from using the glove and stones.
THE END BATTLE:
Thanos and his army show up and it is all about the glove and the stones at this point in time. As Doctor Strange, Spider Man, Black Panther, and others all come out to fight Thanos army.
Even with Captain America and Thor using both Hammers they could not defeat Thanos.
THANOS GETS THE GLOVE:
Thanos manages to get the glove and stones through out the battle.
Just as it seems Thanos and his army would win again Captain Marvel comes along and destroys the ship and starts to fight Thanos. However with the Stones and Glove Thanos seems unbeatable again.
SIDE NOTE:
The glove and stones hurt Hulk but not Thanos please explain that to me!
The team however manages to get the glove with the stones off Thanos.
TONY STARK:
Tony ends up with the glove and stones and uses it to destroy Thanos and his army.
This of course came at the price of Tony Starks death in the end.
TONY STARK FUNERAL:
Everyone is shown at the funeral of Tony Stark in the end.
MY FINIAL THOUGHTS:
In my opinion the movie left to many questions unanswered, and honestly I was a bit disappointed.
I thought that many of the roles played did not fit, and seemed Thanos was indestructible even without the stones.
However it had a lot of action, some comedy, and a bit of sadness and joy.
Upon leaving the theater we discussed the entire film on the way home. I was not the only one feeling a bit of disappointment in the film. However I am sure I am in the minority of people whom feel this way. I will say I am glad the series had an ending however there are more movies coming with Spider Man, Black Panther soon having new releases.
For me I was happy to watch the entire series of movies and am glad to be a part of something fantastic. I mean whom would have ever thought we would have this type of creativity and be able to produce such an elaborate film production.
