Dec 19 • Borealis, A Holiday Spectacular Review

On December 19th 2017 we saw Borealis A Holiday Spectacular

Review by The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik.

The show started at 8pm at the GSR Casino in the Grand Theater. It started with a present in the middle of the floor with lights on it. A male actor named Jess was the main comedy relief in the show and performed his part very well. I found myself Laughing at certain acts and parts of the show.

Jess pulled one lady out of the audience in one act, and had four other participants during the show.

Acts included juggling, dancing, light shows, trampoline, high wire acts, singing, and dancing acts.

The show sometimes seemed a bit boring and acts dragged out. Some of the acts made no sense and there was really no story line for the entire show or I missed it entirely.

However the parts where the comedy came out more than made up for the slower moments in the show, I found myself laughing several times during the act.

The show has some great lighting and music and does not follow any traditional christmas stories  that I can think of. The best acts I thought was the hula hoops and a few of the high wire acts.

I give the show thumbs up for getting the public involved in the show it was the funniest part. In one part of the show Jess and an Elf have a dance off and they got the audience members on stage. It was really funny when Jess stole a shirt of one of the audience members. This may have been a setup but if it was they played it off and had the entire theater laughing.

Where the show needed some help was during a few of the acts that slowed down and where the lights interfered in seeing the acts. In one act a girl comes out with green neon on her and does an act with laser lights. Though it was good music the act made no sense the girl walked around acting as if she was playing with the lights but if they would have maybe done a little more with the lights and the girl it would have been great. It just made no sense as far as part of a story line.

This was another issue I had not that I needed a Christmas Story but any kind of story line would had been nice. You leave asking what was the show about?

However if you get a chance I say go see the show at GSR it is playing through the 28th of December. You will enjoy the music, and the acts also the comedy.
