5 Ways the public could make any sport come crashing down

Recently under fire is the NFL * National Football League) from fans who feel the NFL did the wrong thing with protesting comments from President Donald Trump. Many fans took to social media and also banning watching or going to games. Many fans burned jerseys and other things showing the NFL just how upset they are but if fans truly want to hurt any sport league like the NFL you have to know there is more fall out than just hurting the NFL.

Like it or not things with sports including all four of the major sports leagues in America are woven into the economy and jobs. The NFL, NBA, MLB, and NHL are the largest powerhouse sporting leagues that combined together have around 50 BILLION dollars in revenues. So though I understand the fans and public this industry is tied to a lot more than just playing games in a stadium.

Here are 5 ways I believe the fans and people could truly hurt any of the leagues:

#1 TV: Believe it or not most of leagues get the majority of money from TV broadcasting. The NFL is a prime example getting millions of dollars for commercials during the Super Bowl. However the league shows almost all games on TV. Last year in 2016 the average viewership for the NFL was around 16.5 million people per game. If the public and fans truly want to hurt any of the top sporting leagues stop watching the games on TV.  Also many players are paid for commercials and promos so banning TV is the number ONE way to hurt any sporting leagues.

#2 Live Games: This has far less impact than TV, but teams do not want empty seats. However banning a live game would defiantly send a strong message to the local team. This actually hurts local business and companies as well however. There are many restaurants, bars, vendors, and other types of business that depend on live games.
