Can John Cena and Brock Lesnar save the WWE ?
If your a WWE fan like me you have to admit that the story lines, creative writing and basically both Raw and Smackdown have been well boring. So Raw is building up a fight with Brock Lesnar after the Extreme Rules Pay Per View this Sunday on the WWE Universe Pay Per View that will lead to one of five wrestlers going after Lesnar: Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Soma Joe, Finn Baylor, Bray Wyatt.
However the WWE has changed forever in my book, a lot of Wrestlers have faded away due to injuries or other reasons and the whole landscape of the WWE and the Wrestlers are changing. but are the fans relating to the new generation, the new characters, the new story lines ?
I would argue that it is not happening as the WWE stock that you can find on the NYSE really has not shown any improvement ranging from $19 to $22 per share but the dividends are awesome from this stock.
My argument would be the WWE has gotten away from the humor and bad guy vs good guy, or the rebel in the bunch that defies the company owners. ( If your a WWE fan you know who I am referring to,)
However WWE admits that John Cena and Brock Lesnar are the largest merchandise sellers and the highest rating draws for fans. So will the WWE rely on Cena and Lesnar to save the WWE ?
According to almost every rumor mill and blogger that writes about the WWE, and the following on Twitter and other social networks points to this being the case. The ratings both on RAW and Smackdown have been down since Wrestle-mania and every time Cena has been on Smackdown they surpass Raw in ratings and viewers.
On Raw the name of the game is who can beat the beast and rumors of Lesnar losing the TITLE before next Wrestle-Mania is out there for all to read. WWE could lead to a Reigns or Strowman show down with Lesnar and many people are wanting Finn Baylor.
Whatever the WWE does or what ever story line they go with it needs improvement!
