Review of Circus Circus, Silver Legacy and Eldorado Casino
I did not choose these three casinos as the top ones in Reno but the truth is they are getting to the point where they are number ONE and this is why:
ERI as it is called on the NYSE currently has a stock value of $20.00. This is really up since last year when the company stock was around $16 a share. The company also bought out Capri Isle Hotels and Casinos and currently sits on the level of MGM and a few other larger casino chains.
ERI bought out Silver Legacy and Circus Circus in 2015 and there was no turning back as a remodel of both properties started and is near completion. At the Legacy ERI leased out the Sports Book to William Hill Sports Book who remodeled the sports book. It has been completed for several moths but it has lots of extras for those who love to wager sports or horses. Also ERI remodeled the carpets, and currently added a New Poker room and Deli on the first floor.
Many new restaurants have been added as well on the top floor. As you can walk the entire three casinos on one floor they all connect over a 4 to 6 block area. You can stay in all three casinos the entire time or walk down Virginia Street. Eldoarado has a famous fountain many people take photos there.
The biggest noticeable difference was Circus Circus however. ERI remodeled all the hotel rooms, remodeled the Circus area with a new look and upgrades. They took out the old Buffet and added a food court currently open with Habit Burger, Pizza place, and Panda Express. They are working on opening a waffle house and arcade as well. There is still some construction going on but it looks 100% better. If you saw it a few years ago it will be a real upgrade.
The thing about these casinos is there is not much around them downtown as far as activities. The main draws are major events downtown like BBQ Cook OFFS, Wing Festival, Hot August Nights, Street Vibrations, and other major events that happen in and around downtown Reno.
Being blocks away from UNR is great for epic CRAWLS and other UNR events.
The draw back is downtown over the years has deteriorated to attracting a lot of panhandling and homeless. Many of the buildings are closed or boarded up or have for lease signs by the casinos. In the winter months this area is extremely slow only picking up when the weather changes for the better.
However these casinos offer shows, events, conventions for many of the new companies in town. There area lot of restaurants, bars, and clubs to choose from for entertainment.
Another advantage is that ERI made it so you can use the players club card in all three casinos.
The sports book is considered a leased company and has its own club card and comp system.
That is another mistake ERI did the same sports book is in all three casinos, but you can bet horses and sports in Circus Circus and Silver Legacy, but the Eldorado is purely sports wagering. They also remodeled Circus Sports Book as well. However again this is a leased in company.
If your visiting it is worth staying here especially if you got kids for the MIDWAY as they call it for all the games and free Circus Acts at Circus Circus, and for the Adults endless fun and entertainment in three casinos.
As soon as ERI works with local companies and the City of Reno to improve the downtown area I am sure this casino threesome will be NUMBER ONE IN RENO!
