WHERE IS THE FAIR AT:
Hartville is a smaller town heading toward Saint Louis Missouri from Springfield Missouri.
From where we live in Springfield you take HWY 44 toward Marshfield. You turn off Exit 100 and follow HWY 38. You will see signs to Hartville. You will turn on HWY F and follow that to the fairgrounds. It takes about an hour from Springfield to Hartville.
You will have to look for the sign by a gravel road that leads to the fair on HWY F
PARKING:
There is no fee for parking however it is a dirt road that really only has room for one car at a time.
We managed to get by a few cars coming the other direction but this road is in fairly poor condition and needs to be graded. Also using parking in fields and part graveled areas you must worry about getting stuck in the grass or fields after a good rain,
The fair could use some help grading parking lots with gravel.
However we managed to drive down the road with little issues and find parking.
ENTRY FEES:
The fee for entry is $5 for kids, and $10 for adults. You can buy tickets online or in person at the event.
FOOD AND DRINKS:
There are a few food vendors and places to buy drinks including alcoholic beverages. I really wanted to try a smoked turkey leg that was sold for $10. The other food vendor was selling meals for around $10 to $15. I was able to buy some water bottles from Pirate Cove for $3 each. I never got my turkey leg because they had to wait 30 minutes for the legs to be cooked. By the time we walked around the event there was a really long line so I passed.
EVENTS:
LINK THE WEB PAGE HERE FOR LIST OF EVENTS
Events are held mostly on weekends from 10 AM to 6 PM.
I only saw events for June 2024, and one event in October 2024 listed on the web page.
OVERALL REVIEW:
We had taken our smallest dog with us Nellie and the staff was nice enough to allow us to take her in with us. She got a lot of attention and Annie kept telling people she was a dragon. However do not plan on taking a pet they actually do not allow pets into the fair. This is due to some shows that involve trained birds. Nellie is a really small and we had to promise to stay away from the area with birds.
This is a fun event many people dressed in costumes, music playing, sword fights, and food available.
IF YOUR LOOKING FOR AN OVERALL EXPERIENCE THIS IS FOR YOU!
