If you want to do something different on a Friday Night then discover the Art Walk in downtown Springfield, MO. The Art walk is free and there is plenty of parking in the downtown area that is free as well.

It is a nice way to get into some steps if your into walking a bit and really cool way to check out downtown Springfield.

We got to check out a few places on the Art Walk:

THE GILLIOZ THEATER:

The theater has been around since the 1920s in downtown Springfield. We checked out the theater and found the water runs $5 per bottle. Though the theater is amazing and there is a studio that makes short films called Sato 48.

The staff was friendly and it was a fun experience.

THE CREAMERY ART CENTER:

There was an Art Auction, and art displays along with some food and music offered,

It was really nice to talk to the staff.

Everyone was very friendly.

THE DOWN SIDE OF OUR WALK:

Though we came out for an evening of walking the downtown area may not be the best for walking. In some areas the homeless and people in the area made you think twice about roaming the streets. We saw one police car but no police in the area downtown. Though we did not get bothered by anyone we walked by people smoking pot, homeless sleeping on the streets and in the park area.

We decided to cut our experience short because it was getting dark and we did not feel safe.

Though I recommend the experience it comes with a warning that you should travel together are in a group for safety.
