Thanks for reading and following our journey of life as we keep learning and educating ourselves in food and nutrition. My wife Annie and I have been living a Keto Lifestyle for nearly 2.5 years.

I have researched and educated myself on Keto and Healthy Living so that I can blog our story and help you live a Happy and Healthy life just through eating the correct foods. Also we live the Keto Lifestyle.

Food is one of the most important parts of our health and happiness and needed for our human bodies to function.

Recently my wife and I found a Doctor who supported our Keto Lifestyle, though she does not live the Keto Lifestyle her PA lives the Keto Lifestyle. We found this amazing because you really do not find this very often. After our appointment we got this paperwork attached about  the DASH DIET.

My wife still suffers from a little high blood pressure from time to time so they added this paper about the DASH DIET.

However upon me reading the diet and recommendations on DASH DIET I found it hard to believe this would be recommended for patients with High Blood Pressure. Though some of the recommendations may fall under healthy living and better food the plan would increase Calories, Carbs, and cause other issues.

So here is the bottom line I broke down all the recommendations for the DASH DIET and the CALORIES alone per day are more than 3 times what a normal person needs. The recommendation for women is 2000 calories per day and men 2500. Calories per day however can be tricky depending on a lot of variables.

On Keto there are no specific rules for calories however in the Atkins Diet  it was determined that calories should be reduced for women to around 1500 to 1800 and for men 1800 to 2000. Then Atkins Diet and the Keto Lifestyle are very similar. Matter of fact the founder of Atkins is very involved in Keto as well.

When I researched the Dash Diet the calories per day on the recommended plan of action it added up to nearly 5000 calories per day.  One of the Keto leading Doctors named DR. BERG put out a YOUTUBE video on why Keto would raise your blood pressure and why Keto is actually good for Blood Pressure

The truth is studies and research have proven Keto helps reduce blood pressure.

In talking to our new doctor she explained how she attempted to recommend the Keto Lifestyle to patients who had Diabetes but many of them would not even consider the change so she started recommending this DASH DIET.

According to the Dash Diet flyer it can lower your blood pressure through foods high in calcium, potassium, and magnesium. Foods in this diet would include fruits, vegetables, low fat dairy products, nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains, fish, and poultry.

If your taking a medication you may become more healthy and stop taking medication with Keto Lifestyle.

This has been proven in research and studies.

If your Doctor recommends a Keto Lifestyle it will be because it will help you!
