Inside/Out Missouri ( Branson Zoo Review )

On March 21st 2025 we visited the Branson Zoo at 2751 Shepard of the Hills Expressway in Branson Missouri.

The hours of the Zoo are Monday to Sunday 9 AM to 5 PM.

The zoo has 75 acres, includes a Safari Drive Thru, Parakeet Paradise, and offers a VIP experience where you can pet or hold certain animals..

TICKET PRICES:  Adult $23, Children $15, the VIP Experience Adult $50, Children $40

If you choose the VIP Experience you do have to book a group time CLICK HERE TO BOOK IT

I choose to book the entire trip online, you can do that through the link above. There also is a waiver you must sign you can do that online or when you come to the Zoo they have scanning QR codes posted at the entryway.

However we chose an 11 AM tour on March 21st 2025 as we arrived there is not much parking for a Zoo. The lines had been a little long and seemed to take a while to move so it was good we arrived 30 minutes early. However the check in was fast since I had done it all online.

The cashiers or ticket agents were friendly but seemed to take a long time for transactions. As they instructed us on where to go for the tour. We entered the park and found Parakeet Paradise.

PARAKEET PARADISE:

As part of the VIP tour we got 8 sticks of food for the birds, since we had a few minutes before the tour so we got four sticks and entered the building with the birds. The birds seemed to flock to the sticks and it was fun feeding all the birds.

NOTE: We entered a second time before we left for the Safari. The birds this time just all stayed on the back of the wall and in bird houses. The birds would not eat any food or come out.

It was a bit of a let down.

VIP EXPERIENCE ( PETTING THE ANIMALS):

We had really been looking forward to this but the tour started late and we had a large group of people. Once our tour guide came he needed a speaker or a mic or something because we could not hear or understand him. One the group was taken inside a building and sat around the walls on benches.

Then they brought out: Kangaroo, Wallaby, Armadillo , and a Python. However we did not get to pet all the animals because of the large group. Then the zoo decided to kick the group out of the room because another group was coming.

This was also a let down and flat out rude on the part of the Zoo.

THE ZOO:

The Zoo part did not have a lot of animals that you would not see in a farm, or out in the wild. There was a Tiger, Lion, and some Monkeys. You will get your steps in however walking up and down hills and following the path around to see all the exhibits.

This was disappointing as well I felt as most of the animals we saw could be seen almost on any farm.

THE DRIVE THROUGH SAFARI and PETTING ZOO:

Once again this was very disappointing as the roads are very steep and curvy. I was a little worried about my car in a few spots. Again most of the animals in the Safari could be found on farms or in a State Park or out in the Wild.

In one part of the drive you can feed Lamas, Cows, Emus, Mini Horses, Donkeys, and some other animals. This part was fun as the animals came right up to the windows I would recommend having some food for them however. At the end of the Safari there is a small park with a petting zoo and another building with animals in it.

Again however most of the animals could be found in a pet store however we did find a few animals not found that we got to interact with.

This was the only part of the Zoo I found to be entertaining only because the staff actually took time to talk and interact with us.

MY FINAL REVIEW:

Today's trip was very disappointing I hope if you choose to go to this ZOO you have a better experience. Though we enjoyed the overall experience we felt cheated on the VIP pet encounter and Parakeet Paradise. The Drive thru Safari is also not really exciting unless you want to worry about the roads. The final area was entertaining and had some more animals.

I can't really give a GOOD REVIEW for the ZOO at this time. This is a unique experience however I hope if you decide to go you have a better experience than we did.
