I was just reading an article about how some physicians and researchers are talking about different diets being a FAD. They listed the Ketogenic Diet as one of these. My question is, how would Keto have become a fad? To my knowledge fad means something that is like a virus. It gets started, runs it's course, and fades out. Dictionary: "Fad" an intense and widely shared enthusiasm for something, especially one that is short-lived. But here is the problem I have with this theory. Eating a low carb diet was a part of life since the beginning of man. Humans ate mostly meats, some vegetables and seasonal fruits. Over time, grains were added.  We started commercial packaged foods with chemically produced preservatives in the past 150 years. Manufacturers added sweetners to everything. All of this together has increased disease. My project is true stories facts and based on information gained through government agencies and covers the issues of POVERTY and HOMELESS in AMERICA ! I was just listening to a well known doctor who was talking about "one day off" methods for holidays with your family. Listening to her advice on taking a day off from eating Ketogenic foods made me angry!  As a long term Ketotarian I  want to be respected like any other person who has made a lifestyle choice. Living a Ketogenic lifestyle is just like living a carnivore, vegetarian, or vegan lifestyle. You don't  take a day off. Your family supports you. They have low carb/ no carb meal items that the entire family can enjoy.  Lack of support in any lifestyle is hard for anyone. But the fact that lifestyles can mean a person's overall health and wellness, means that loved ones should support you rather than hurt you. Many people stop a Ketogenic Lifestyle because they have loved ones who don't understand how carbs hurt you.  For years I have seen the "Tiny House" movement growing,  and have been interested in it. I see the aspects of owning g a Tiny House and of also living off the grid. But with all the different sizes and models they all seem to be structured for one type of individual. This to be is harsh. It's  seems the Ti y House industry is focused on people who are young with no disabilities. Tiny homes aren't structured for people with disabilities or for seniors. Although the size of a tiny house would be perfect, most of them are not built to suit these special needs. Most Tiny House are build with aloft which is on the average about four feet tall. Even to make ones bed, you may have to move about on your knees. The stairs leading to the loft, is often shallow. Many lofts use a ladder.   I hate to admit it. No woman in their right mind would. Although my husband never says a word. He never shames me. He never elude to acknowledgement, but it is painfully obvious, like many people of America I had become morbidly obese. Those two ugly words.  The first time I heard the words "morbidly obese" I didn't recognize the meaning. I mean it was used on a person six hundred pounds. So why was the doctor in front of me using this term with me? I'm  looking at him and thinking "you are bigger then I  am. How can you be telling me this?"
