What do you really make in the Delivery Business ?
Hello you all it has been a while since I posted here about the delivery business.

This is a loaded question because there is a variation of the answer.
First of all it depends if you are a independent contractor or self employed or do you work for a company that does delivery?
It can also depend on where you live like what State and what the laws are in that State for wages.
You should research the wage laws in each State or at least research the Wage laws where you live.
Here in Missouri where I live currently the wage is $9.74 per hour however for tipped positions like delivery drivers you get $4.74 per hour plus your tips.
If your self employed than you may be required to pay unemployment ,social security, federal and state taxes,
Either way you will be responsible for maintenance on your car, gas and misc expenses as well.
I did a study researched DOOR DASH and UBER EATS you can read some of my old blogs.
I found in my research I found you can average about 2 to 3 deliveries per hour.
Door Dash changed the format of how it pays last year making a $2 delivery fee plus tips from the customers.
Uber Eats pays mileage and tips from the customers as well.
If you work for a company depending on your State wages and laws you may be paid different wages plus tips.
According to research from several government agencies a typical delivery driver can average between $35.000to $50,000 per year.
However it can vary depending on your area, your town and if you are doing it full time, part time or as a side gig.
There most likely is not an official answer but you can break it down like this:
Divide the $ amount by the hours your work minus any expenses and this will give you an estimate of how much per hour you actually make:
