Inside/Out Missouri Review on Springfield Cardinals Game at Hammond Field

Today I decided to catch a Springfield Cardinals game at Hammons Field on Sunday May 19th 2024. The Game was advertised as a lunch included with the ticket price.

PARKING:

Hammons Field is not located for the best parking. Most likely you will need to pay for parking most of the lots charge $10 for parking. You can find FREE parking if you're willing to walk a few blocks away from the stadium. 

TICKET PRICES:

Today the 2 tickets we purchased ran $24 each but included a picnic in the lunch. This included a lunch with hot dogs, bratwurst,nachos and a drink. Going to the web page is the best way to determine the ticket price for the game you would like to attend. You can buy tickets at the window at the game.

The doors are open 1 hour before the game time.

FOOD and DRINKS:

There are plenty of vendors open during the game. However I am just gonna warn you bring a debit or credit card. I had 2 vendors tell me they DID NOT TAKE CASH. Seems we have entered into the cashless society at the Cardinals Game. Also be ready to pay some pretty high prices for food and drinks at the game. They do serve alcoholic beverages but I did not check out the prices.

They also offer happy hours 30 minutes before game time, and stop serving alcoholic beverages at the top of the 8th inning.

SEATING:

The seats are going around the baseball field and are clearly marked. The seats are comfortable but one issue I had today was it was sunny and 83 degrees in Springfield. There is no protection from the SUN. Most people I saw from the 3009 tickets sold migrated to seats that had been shaded by the building. Even myself ended up getting sun burned. One thing I liked was they put up a net in front of the seats but behind home plate stretching across the seating area. This protects fans from foul balls however some balls still got hit into the crowd. 

ENTERTAINMENT FACTOR:

I give it to the Cardinals for making the game as much fun as possible. This included doing fun and games in-between innings mostly with the younger kids. They also played music during the game. had fan interactions and gave away some prizes.
