INSIDE/OUT MISSOURI Review of the Bolivar Rodeo called Missouri Beef Days

MISSOURI BEEF DAYS RODEO REVIEW by THE OUTLAW MICHEAL TOMSIK

Annie and I wanted something different to do so on Friday May 10th 2024 we decided to go see a rodeo something we had not done in some time. I purchased the tickets online at $10 per adult for entry into the fair and rodeo. You could also pay at the gate as well. The total cost was $20 for Annie and I.

PARKING:

Parking was in a field that had grass knee high. You literally had to drive your vehicle through a field of grass. Though they did have staff directing you to the parking spot. Some of the staff seemed a bit confused about the hand directions to get to the parking spot they wanted you in. Though I do admit the parking was free because some places and events charge for parking in addition to the entry fee. Also leaving the parking area there are no lights in the field and it was dark making it a bit unsafe for people walking to the vehicles and people leaving in vehicles. My suggestion here is to have staff with night sticks to help with traffic and to cut the field down. It was also good that it was sunny and the field had dried otherwise many people may have gotten stuck in mud.

FOOD:

Being that this was called Missouri Beef Days I thought well they should have plenty of meat and food choices. However there was a fairly small venue of food choices for a fair. There had been some places for things like funnel cakes, cotton candy, and other foods you normally find at a fair but it had very few booths with pretty long lines. Annie and I did manage to find one truck selling steak sandwiches. They did accommodate us with no bread and just the steak. We paid $20 for 2 steaks and 2 water bottles.

GAMES AND VENDORS:

Typically at a fair you find some carnival games but this one had none, it did have a small area for some vendors. I was really disappointed that we only found one vendor selling meat however. Seems the Missouri Beef Days needs to recruit more vendors for the event in my opinion.

RODEO:

So there was a fairly large arena but the event underestimated the crowd and we could not find any seating around the arena. One of the staff members even informed us they had added the benches for the event. The crowd was so large that the arena was filled. We finally found some seats but it took a long while and we missed some parts of the start of the Rodeo.

Over all it was a smaller Rodeo however it had the flair of a big time rodeo. There was no disappointment in the show. There was one moment when one of the bull riders got stomped on by a bull it seemed the crowd was quite concerned over his injury.  Besides that the show was good.
