Mask or No Mask by the Outlaw Micheal Tomsik
So in the blog I want to discuss the whole idea of wearing a MASK or not wearing one and what the issue is.
On Thursday July 16th 2020 the city of Springfield, MO where I live at is going to make wearing a MASK in public places mandatory.
With no signs of the Covid 19 virus slowing down in many States, Cities, and Towns are moving to make wearing a Mask Mandatory.
Currently a majority of States are passing laws to making wearing a Mask Mandatory,
The amazing thing this is not the first time a virus or disease has created a situation where as the government and the people have been at odds about wearing a mask for protection from the spread of a virus or disease.
In 1918 and 1919 the Influenza Pandemic was a deadly outbreak killing 50 million people world wide, and around 675,000 in the USA. The government issued mantoitory mask to help stop the spread. Though most people complied there was a small resistance to wearing the mask during this outbreak as well.
So lets make a case for both sides of the issue to WEAR A MASK OR NOT?
WHAT EVIDENCE IS THERE THAT WEARING A MASK HELPS PREVENT THE SPREAD OF A VIRUS OR DISEASE?
In recent real world studies places where as people are wearing mask the Covid 19 virus declined with in 5 days by nearly 2 percent.
Also in foreign countries that issued mandatory mask the death rate dropped.
Researchers say that if 80 to 100 percent of people would wear mask it would reduce the spread of the virus more effectively than another lock down.
FACTS ABOUT THE MASK:
Bring comfortable is important when wearing a mask.
One of the biggest complaints from people is confort.
Wearing it properly as well as it should cover the nose and mouth is the most important part of wearing the mask.
They have done some research on different materials used in mask,
Surgical mask are the best , however a cloth mask is just fine,
Mask with valves do not comply because they allow the virus or disease to escape or enter through the valve.
Though no one can say the mask is 100 percent effective it does lower your risk of getting the disease or virus.
The fact is you can not tell if some one is infected or not, so the mask is a tool that helps lower the risk of catching or spreading the virus or disease.
HOW LONG WILL THEY REQUIRE WEARING MASK IN PUBLIC:
This question may be hard to answer.
It really depends on the spread of the virus.
Most places are going with 30 to 90 days for mandatory mask in public.
More and moe companies are requiring employees to wear mask while on duty, this may become a new normal in our society.
Even if the government removes mandatory mask employers may still require employees to wear them.
REASONS GIVEN FOR NOT WEARING A MASK:
#1) Freedome
#2) Virus or Disease is not real or they believe it is fake
#3) Mask will cause Medical Issues
#4) Asking you to wear a mask is discrimination
#5) A Negative Test Result
#6) It is not cool
#7) You can not possibly catch a virus or disease
#8) The research keeps changing
#9) The mask covers your face features
#10) The mask is some sort of symbol
THE TRUTH ABOUT THE MASK:
There are a few cases where a mask might be an issue like extreme cases of asthma or other medical conditions where a mask may affect your breathing. In these cases you should consult a doctor.
The rest of the reasons above can simply go back to one question:
HOW CAN YOU TELL IF SOMEONE IS INFECTED OR NOT?
WHERE SHOULD AND WHEN SHOULD I WEAR A MASK?
If you go anywhere in public with other people is a good suggestion.
It is a way to reduce risk of spreading or catching the disease or virus.
There is not really a need to wear one at home, by yourself in the car, or outside and away from other people.
You should not have to wear one with your family at home, or a roommate unless someone is infected.
You still should follow social distancing guide lines.
