DOORDASH by The Outlaw Micheal Tomsik
IT IS ALL ABOUT THE DEVIRY BUSINESS by THE OUTLAW MICHEAL TOMSIK
I am going to discuss a company called DOORDASH with you all in this blog.
DoorDash was opened in 2013 founded by: Tony Xu, Andy Fang, Evan Moore, Stanley Tang
As of December 2019 the company revenued is estimated at around 900 million dollars.
STOCKS:
DoorDash does not currently have publicly traded stock however the main competitor Uber is a publicly traded company you can find on the NYSE under UBER. Currently the stock is around $33. Doordash has applied to go public with stocks recently but currently the company is still privately owned and operated.
HOW DOORDASH WORKS:
DoorDash works by using independent contractors to deliver food from restaurants to a person's home or business,
It is estimated that Doordash has secured about 37 percent of the delivery business.
Doordash makes money by charging a fee or percentage to the restaurants for the delivery service.
The company offers the independent contractors a delivery fee and tips to make wages.
As of December 2019 it was estimated that the company had over 7,500 independent contractors and employees.
As of December 2019 Doordash had over 196 restaurants contracted.
However with Doordash the company (restaurant) does not have to have a contract with Doordash and customers can use restaurants that are not contracted with Doordash.
Doordash uses a phone app for the independent contractors and most everything is done through this app.
Doordash offers a company credit or debit card to contractors to use to pay for the food, and customers can pre pay for the service as well.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE I HAVE VIDEOS AND OTHER BLOGS ON THE COMPANY.

You will need to schedule your times or use the Dash Now feature on the app.
ALMOST EVERYTHING IS DONE THROUGH THE DOORDASH APP!
HOW YOU GET PAID/ HOW TO SCHEDULE WORK/ AND WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
As stated above everything is mostly done on the DOORDASH APP.
So on the APP you have the ability to schedule a shift, or you also can log in/out on a shift at any time if there is jobs available.
SEE MY VIDEOS CLICK HERE
HOW TO GET PAID:
PAY is also done through the APP you can choose weekly pay or you can choose to get fast pay that pays daily.
They do charge a small fee for the daily but it is an instant pay but can only be done once every 24 hours.
You as an Independent Contractor are considered SELF EMPLOYED Doordash does not take any taxes out as far as State, Federal, Social Security, Unemployment, or any other taxes.
You will be responsible for all of those.
Also you are responsible for auto, auto maintenance, and auto gas.
The good news is you can write all this off as part of being Self Employed.
Doordash has some outside vendors for health insurance, but in general the company does not offer that benefit.
HOW JOBS ARE DETERMINED, AND HOW TO GET JOBS:
Again mostly everything is done on the APP.
In the APP you have the ability to schedule your own hours. Once on the APP there is a drop down menu one of them says SCHEDULE.
If you click this it will tell you scheduled times available for deliveries.
On the App you also can use DASH NOW if the area your in is RED on the map and the DASH NOW sign on the APP is up you can dash without a schedule.
You can LOG IN/OUT during any shift on the APP.
RATINGS AND POINT SYSTEM:
Doordash uses a point system called RATINGS for drivers.
Again find the word Ratings on the drop down menu and click it.
This will show you your current ratings.
There is an Average Customer Rating, Acceptance Rate, Completion Rate , On Time or Early Rate, and it also keeps track of how many delivers you have done.
These ratings are important and you want to try to keep them as high and in good standing as possible. In good standing you will be assigned more jobs, the lower these are then less jobs you will get, and Doordash may even suspend your account. if they are to low.
THE RED CARD:
DoorDash supplies a red debit card that is sometimes used by you to pay the restaurants for food. This card is not for payroll, wages, or for you to get food it is only for customers and the restaurants.
HOW MUCH CAN I MAKE ON DOORDASH:
Like anything it is a little hard to determine but doordash offers a fee for the delivery, and tips from the customers. Doordash does not pay mileage the fees had been between $5 to $7 per delivery, but in recent events Doordash changed the policy and reduced this fee all the way down to as low as $2.
Doordash also will let you work as long or short as you want.
Research times that are busy like lunch and dinner.
Also it is about how many deliveries you can completer, in my research I found you can only do 2 to 3 deliveries per hour.
It really is hard to say because there is no way to determine tips into the mix.
I have researched and wrote extensive blogs on this subject:
