Should I leave my job if I hate it ?

Recently on my facebook CLICK HERE FOR MY FACEBOOK a person asked this question:

SHOULD I LEAVE MY JOB IF HATE IT?

So I thought as both a person whom has been an employee and business owner I would toss some though on this subject.

HOURS PER WEEK:

This is a break down of some realistic facts:
Many of us work 40 hours a week 8 hours per day.
Since we can all agree that there are 7 days in a week all with 24 hours in them the total number of hours in a week would be 168.
Lets just say 8 hours per day are for sleep ot resting that would add up to be 56 hours per week.
Than adding our 40 hours of work that would add up to 96 hours.
Leaving 72 hours per week of free time.
This does not including anyone whom may have a second job or self employment.
The truth and fact is many of us spend a majority of our time at work.

The first question you should ask yourself : WHY DO I HATE MY JOB?
It is import to discover the answer to this question because maybe it is not the job.
As we discussed above a majority of our time is spent working.
It is not only that however when we work with others we develop a circle with the people around us.

So with this in mind I submit some more thoughts into the subject:

TIME OFF OR TAKE A BREAK:
Could it be possible you do not really hate the job but are just burned out.
Can you take time off, a vacation, a few days PTO, or even afford just to take a few days away.
Sometimes this can make a big difference on your prospective or to step away from the issues that are creating your resentment to work.
Are you spending to much time at work, or being involved with work outside of work?

IS IT THE RIGHT TIME:
Look at recent events the entire country was practically shut down from COVID 19 for several months, and employment is stalled in many places today.
Unemployment skyrocketed and the country even though reopening is still losing many companies and business.
You should consider your personal financial situation and if you are prepared to leave your job finically.
Is it the right time to switch or change jobs?

SEEKING OTHER EMPLOYMENT:
In Nevada many of the casinos started a trend that if you gave a two week notice they just let you go.
The reasoning was the companies felt if you did not want to be there you would not do your job during the two weeks.
If you really are seeking other opportunities posting on facebook, social media or areas where your current employer can see it maybe a mistake.
In the past I have made this mistake posting things about my employer and in one case it caused me to get fired.
Also if your seeking new opportunities the employers will want a reference.
So they will verify your employment, and this could tip off your employer that you are unhappy or wanting to leave your current job.

RESEARCH AND QUESTIONS:
What kinds of employment are you seeking, and what are the opportunities in your area ?
What are you seeking in new employment, and what exactly do you hate about your current job?
Is there anything that you could do to change how you feel about your current job?
What are the benefits of new employment vs the current position your in?
You should research every aspect of your decision including pay, benefits, and other factors into your research. return and you should be ready to follow through on your decision to leave.
If you choose to discuss with the company your reasons for hating the position just be ready the company may decide to let you go.
However many employers are quite willing to listen, but that does not mean they will do or change anything.

CHANGE YOUR THOUGHT OF MIND:
You may not be able to change the things at your job but you can change you.
Come to work with a positive attitude, don't let the little things sway your attitude.
One thing recently I have begun to notice is all I can do is what I can do.
I can not make others do what they are suppose to do or control what they do while at work.
I recently had the experience where as I really was dreading doing something at my job, and it was making me hate it.
However I decided that I was going to embrace the duty and ever since I no longer hate my job.
Also there are always going to be obstacles things we do not like or agree with on our jobs.
We are going to have good and bad times at work.

I believe that we should enjoy our job, why work at some place you hate!
