In 2017 I was still operating Outlaw Entertainment Company and I was asked by several people to do a story on DOORDASH and UBER EATS.
So I took upon myself to investigate the companies and the delivery business in general.
I have written countless blogs, and also even got into Uber Passenger pick up and drop offs.

Recently COVID 19 has brought a whole new spin on the delivery business.

The first question is how much can I make delivery business but it can be a loaded question.
Are you going to be self employed as a independent contractor or gainfully employed with a company.

So let's discuss working for a company that does delivery first. Upon working for a company like a fast food chain, or another delivery company has some advantages as you will be paid by the company. This means that company must follow the State and Federal rules and regulations on wages. Each state has different rules and regulations and laws on wages. You should research wages for delivery drivers as some states have different laws for positions that are tipped.

If you choose self employment or independent contractor positions with companies like Doordash, Uber, Grubhub, Instant Cart, Postmates and other companies out there that offer Independent Contractor positions than you will need to research the area you live and plan to work in.

It is estimated that most delivery position pay between $11 to $14 an hour on average.

In my research it broke down to how many deliveries and tips made per hour.
In my research it was determined you could do 2 to 3 deliveries per hour depending on many factors.
In my research most deliveries take from 20 to 30 minutes to complete.

Most all the companies that offer contractor positions use apps and are paid through direct deposit. In many cases you still may use your vehicle in a contractor or employment situation, but in some cases you may drive company vehicles if employed by a delivery service.

There are some tax advantages to using your vehicle and some advantages and disadvantages to self employment. Self employment offers you the benefit of setting your own schedules, with holding taxes, and the ability to get paid daily or weekly. However some disadvantages there is no unemployment, social security taken out of pay you are responsible for all that,

Starting in July 2020 I will be posting blogs weekly on subjects about the delivery business.

Hope to see you here !
