Alliance of American Football League money woes or not ?
WILL THE ALLIANCE of AMERICAN FOOTBALL LEAGUE MAKE IT OR NOT ?
Recently the AAFL had a hurdle of not paying the salaries to the players, and having to find 250 million dollars just to pay the players.
This does not seem very promising for the future of the league.
REVENUES:
LIVE TICKET SALES:
According to several outside companies who track statistics and stuff the AAFL is averaging 19,000 per game in attendance. So tickets are sold at $25 a person, that means each game is making around $475,000 per game.
ESTIMATED BASED ON THIS INFORMATION:
With an estimated $475000 dollars in total revenues per game.
There are 4 games per week for a total of 16 games per month.
An estimated revenue per month would be $ 7,600,000
AAFL web page reports 10 weeks of play not including playoffs or championship games.
So this means only 3 months at most so we times that by 3 to get a total of $22,800,000
ESTIMATED TOTAL REVENUES FROM LIVE TICKET SALES AT GAMES: $22,800,000
SALARIES:
So AAFL players signed 250,000 with a 3 year contract, the first year offering $70,000 per player. Also coaches are reportedly being paid $500,00 per year.
So think about just the salary requirements for 8 teams with 11 players.
This is how many players are needed for a football team on the field only.
88 players at $70,000 per year is a total of $6,160,000 dollars alone.
8 coaches added to that at $500,000 per year is a total of $4,000,000 dollars added to that.
TOTAL SO FAR: $10,160,000 in expense for the first year alone in salaries with the basic 11 players only required on the field and 1 coach.
TOTAL LIVE TICKET REVENUES ESTIMATED $22, 800,000
TOTAL SALARY EXPENSES $10,160,000
PROFIT OR LOSS $12,640,000
This is all a very very huge estimated currently the league would be clearing 12 million dollars in profits.
While that is not the case we have not even discussed:
TRAVEL EXPENSES, UNIFORMS, TEAM EQUIPMENT, LEASE OF STADIUMS, PAYING REFEREES AND OTHER STAFF MEMBERS, INSURANCE, OTHER PAYROLL ISSUES LIKE SOCIAL SECURITY. UNEMPLOYMENT. AND STATE or FEDERAL TAXES.
I also only based my estimates with 88 players but each team could have more players. Lets just say if each team has 22 players ( 11 for Offense and 11 for Defense) we would need to double my estimate. If that is the case there would only be around a 2 million dollar profit.
Also if you add in a defensive coach for each team double that salary by 8.
Than you would be talking negative numbers for the league.
I would love to see a release of from the league of REVENUES and EXPENSES.
