You read about it on the internet, see it in the local news people talking about POKEMON CARDS.

It is in the news and it is talked about all over the internet SCALPERS and POKEMON CARDS!

WHAT IS A SCALPER ?

A scalper is a person that goes and buys massive amounts of merchandise upon release of the merchandise and turns around and increases the prices to make a profit off the merchandise. Most of the time these people do not have an interest in the hobby plus they only want to flip the merchandise and make a quick profit.

WHY ARE POKEMON CARD PRICES GOING SO HIGH?

It is a combination of several things that cause the issues with Pokemon.

PRODUCTION: The issue comes from the Pokemon Company itself with not manufacturing enough products for the market.

MONEY:  This is one of the biggest problems . Pokemon Cards have been put center stage with one card being bought at 5,4 million dollars and being sold at 16 Million dollars. With Pokemon cards that can range in value from  $1 to the possibility millions people are exploring the hobby for profits.

DISTRIBUTION: Leaks and people posting and tracking where new releases and merchandise is going to be. Also it is a problem that disputation is slow and widespread.

SECONDARY MARKETS: With merchandise being  SECONDARY MARKETS have become the norm.  These markets increase the prices on the merchandise however. This is happening on Walmart, Amazon, and even Target. This is also happening across the board with companies that re-sell the merchandise. This causes the merchandise to go up in Price.

STORES STARTING POLICIES ON SALES: Major companies have started to limit what a customer can buy limiting the amount of products they can buy at one time. Places like Target and Walmart have added rules about what you can buy at one time. However  they end up with lines of customers on sales release days. They usually do not have enough merchandise for the demand.

HOW THIS HURTS SMALL COMPANIES LIKE MINE:

It all trickles down the merchandise cost more, and distributors do not allow companies like mine that do not have RETAIL LOCATIONS to use them. so what happens is that a company like mine has to search secondary markets, hit up stores, use outside markets like Facebook, or buy or trade with other collectors or companies.

In the end it makes the prices of the merchandise go up.

HOW THE PROBLEM COULD BE SOLVED:

Allowing a company like mine to order merchandise from wholesale companies would be a start this would create a way to offer merchandise at retail prices. Cut secondary markets only allow companies like mine to sell the merchandise. Increase production of the merchandise.

Stop buying from SCALPERS!

Go to small companies like mine to purchase merchandise.
