In 2025 I decided to start my series in my home town of Springfield Missouri. My mission is to research and study the homeless issues, and what leads to the issue, and how to resolve the issue.
I plan for all of 2025 to find answers through interviews, research, blogging , and videos.
Once I have completed my home town I plan to move my series and research ALL OF AMERICA.
So start my series I have found some relevant information about my series:
In 2023 it was reported that Springfield Missouri had a population of 170,188, and in 2024 it was estimated to be 170,525.
According to Government Agencies Research:
NOTE: (I did not research this information myself all the research was done by various Government Agencies.)
Springfield Missouri was below the National Average Cost of Living. Also these agencies reported that housing was 26% lower than the National Average. The average rent averages $1,076 and an average house costs around $362,664.
Utilities in Springfield also was reported Lower than the National Average by 19%.
Transportation in Springfield also was reported Lower than the National Average by 12%.
Food in Springfield also was reported Lower than the National Average by 6%
Healthcare in Springfield also was reported Lower than the National Average by 4%
In 2024 it is estimated that a LIVING WAGE will be $18.92 for a Single Person, and $38.37 for Two Adults.
On Jan 1st 2024 the minimum wage in Missouri is moving to $13.75 and $15 on Jan 1st 2026.
According to various Government Agencies Springfield had an estimated 2,500 to 2,683 Homeless Population in Springfield Missouri in 2024.
Here is a question that we need to ask: What is considered HOMELESS ?
According to the government, anyone that does not live in a regular residence. You are considered homeless if you live in a shelter, temporary housing, hotel or motel, car, camp grounds, or places not meant for habitation. This also may include RV LIVING.
