ROUTE 66 Stops you should make from Springfield MO to Saint Louis MO on I-44 and Route 66 by Inside/Out Missouri

Springfield MO:
Springfield has been called the BIRTHPLACE OF ROUTE 66 however in 2024 much of the Route is in desperate need of repairs and attention. However if you start in Springfield there are a few spots to look at and visit.
ROUTE 66 CAR MUSEUM located at 1634 W College Street.
GILLOZ THEATER located at 325 Park Central E
HISTORY MUSEUM ON THE SQUARE located at 154 Park Central Square
COLLEGE STREET CAFE located at 1622 W College Street
ROUTE 66 STEAK and SHAKE located at 1158 E St Louis Street
REDS GIANT HAMBURGER located at 2301 W Sunshine St.
BASS PRO SHOP located at 1 Bass Pro Drive
There are some other locations you could visit in Springfield as well but not all of them are related to Route 66.
Leaving Springfield you will get on I-44 to head to Saint Louis, there are some parts of the Old Route 66 you can follow if you wish as well but some of these roads really need improvements.
This iconic gas station was opened last year . So you may want to stop at BUC-EE'S located at 3284 N Beaver Rd. It is famous for the Brisket, but it has all kinds of food, and merchandise to check out.
Another stop will bring you to REDMANS CANDY SHOP and THE WORLDS LARGEST GIFT SHOP located at 330 Pine St, Phillisburg MO.
Following I-44 you will find a smaller city called Lebanon. You will want to find the ROUTE 66 MUSEUM located at 915 S Jefferson Ave, Lebanon MO. You may also want to find this park that has murals called BOSWELL ROUTE 66 PARK located at 679 W Elm St, Lebanon MO.
Once you leave Lebanon you can follow I-44 to a famous place called URANUS. The URANUS FUDGE FACTORY is one of the most popular stops on Route 66 and I-44. You will enjoy the stop and it is located at 14400 State Hwy Z, St,Roberts MO.
Going along the I-44 and Route 66 you will find the CITY OF CUBA. There is a stop with the 2nd Largest Rocking Chair located at 5957 State Hwy ZZ, CUBA MO. You should go to the City however known as the city with the most murals you can walk or drive around downtown CUBA and follow the murals all over town. You can start at 406 W Washington St, Cuba MO.
Heading on I-44 and Route 66 after Cuba you will want to make a stop at MERAMEC CAVERNS. Located at 1135 HWY W, Sullivan MO. You can camp, fish, hike, or tour the cavern. There is also a wax museum called Jesse James Wax Museum but it was closed last time we drove by on Dec 1st 2024.
There also is another big gas station called WALLYS located at 950 Assembly Parkway, Fenton, MO
