I have been known to be outspoken in the sports world with my company Outlaw Sports Entertainment and I got my nick name the Outlaw Micheal Tomsik from being out spoken and different than many other media personalities. Here are some real facts gathered through the leagues own information that can be verified on line and in history:
NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE:
Established in 1899 as the American Professional Football Association. It started with 10 teams in 4 states and changed to the current name in 1922. This football league is the only league that has maintained National status and today is a powerhouse that made a revenue of 13 Billion Dollars last year.
MAJOR BASEBALL LEAGUE:
The league officially uses the year 1869 as the starting date. This league has claimed the highest amount of spectators in 2015 at around 75 million fans. Also this league reportedly highest revenue was around 9.5 Billion Dollars.
NATIONAL BASKETBALL LEAGUE:
The league was founded in New York City in 1946 as the Basketball Association of America. This league has established itself as well with 30 teams that average value is 1.36 Billion Dollars each.
This league also generated 5.9 Billion Dollars in revenues last year.
NATIONAL HOCKEY LEAGUE:
There is not a clear date that this league was established in November of 1917. Since than the league has been established in mostly USA and CANADA. In 2016 the league reported revenues of 4.1 Billion Dollars.
ULTIMATE FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP:
Over the years MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) has gained popularity all over the world. While there are several different companies the UFC has shown dominance since they founded the company in November of 1993. In 2015 the company reported 500 Million Dollars in revenues. The company was sold in 2015 for 4 Billion Dollars. Today the company is Nation Wide and provides Pay Per Views and shows all over the world. Also the UFC has both men and women competing. This is something the 4 leagues above do not have any female athletes competing.
NASCAR:
Officially the first race recorded was in Daytona Florida on February 15th 1948. Many people believe Danica Patrick was the first female driver in NASCAR but you would be wrong. Sara Christian finished in 14th place at Charlotte Speedway on June 19th 1949. A NASCAR team is estimated to be worth around 143 Million Dollars and generates revenues around 100 Million Dollars. Teams can share anywhere from 1 Million to 20 Million Dollars in prize money.
Currently since Danica Patrick left NASCAR there are no women drivers.
WORLD WRESTLING ENTERTAINMENT (WWE):
Many people may ask why I would toss this company in a sports section after all the story lines are all scripted and half of the wrestling they do is fake. However this company has become a World Wide icon. WWE dates back to the 1950's and is still going strong as ever. The company revenues reportedly are around 729 Million Dollars. Also you can buy stock with this company that is currently around $32 a share. This company has 2 live TV shows in USA and regularly competes with the other sports companies above in fan base. Also this company has both female and male entertainers and constantly is in the news and social media.
WOMEN'S NATIONAL BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION:
The league was founded in 1996 but did not start playing games till 1997. This league has not been able to gain a lot of ground it was reported in 2015 the league only had an attendance of 7,318 fans per game. Compared to the NBA the highest salary in the WNBA is around $107,000 per year. It is harder to find an answer on the actual revenues of the WNBA . WNBA revenues is reportedly around 11 Million Dollars.
