The Outlaw Sports Betting Club ( NFL Pre Season Games )
As a long time Chicago Bears fan and NFL fan I love seeing the idea of a new season coming. However my podcast called Outlaw Sports Betting Club closed down in 2024 and I have not made a wager on a sports game in over 6 years since I moved from Reno NV to Springfield MO.
Matter of fact I sold my sports wagering company in 2019 that had been in operation in Reno NV since 2017. I wrote a few books about my experience and how I learned to wager on sports.
I wrote 3 books about my years of working in Nevada Sports books covering nearly 10 years and my 3 years of owning and operating one of the first sports betting investment companies in Nevada. I had yearly managed to make profits and make money for my investors however in 2019 Covid 19 shut my operation down due to no sports.
I probably could have waited out the year and re-started but we decided to move to Missouri and Sports betting was not legal in Missouri at the time.
However I maintained a podcast from 2020 to 2024 called Outlaw Sports Betting Club and we discussed the odds and picked games every week of the NFL only. In 2024 however struck another blow when the Podcast company we used closed down.
In December of 2024 in Missouri legal sports wagering was finally approved in the State.
However it was mostly online not sports books where I can walk in the door and place wagers. today in 2026 the NFL season is about to kick off once again. Though it is online and no live wagering I wanted to test my skills once again. Will my books hold ground or will my system work once again ?
There is only one way to find out and that is to jump in and do it!
So for 2026 and 2027 NFL season starting with Pre Season I will be writing a weekly blog about the games and who I will be wagering on all the way to the Championship game.
So we will decide an investment amount and wager a certain amount on each game typically in my system we had to wager on 10 games but I was also wagering on all sports not just the NFL.
So how I was thinking of doing this there are 16 games played per week in the NFL. This played over 18 weeks in the regular season leading to the NFL Playoffs. There are 13 games in the playoffs leading to the NFL Championship game.
So I was thinking I would wager on 8 games per week in regular season leading into the Playoffs. At this point we would place wagers on the playoff games going all the way to the Championship game
PRE-SEASON NFL:
These games are really considered scrimmage games because they do not reflect the regular season and often teams do not put the regular best players in the games.
WEEK ONE PRE SEASON
Hall of Fame Game
AUG 6th:
Panthers vs Cardinals
SPORTS BOOK ODDS:
Panthers -1.5
Score Over/Under 36.5
Panthers Money Line -125
Cardinals Money Line +105
Looking at this game I would want to look more at the MONEY LINE than point spread or Over/Under.
When I was wagering as an investor and wagering for money as an income MONEY LINES reduced your wager down to a 50/50 chance at winning your wager. One team is going to win and one team is going to lose. A majority of my wagers I used the MONEY LINE.
One thing I don't have that live books offer though is LIVE WAGERING so if I made a wager and it was going South we will say I could wager live on the game to compensate for my loss.
Here in Missouri however all the sports betting is through APPS and they do not allow LIVE WAGERING.
So another theory I have ( This is just my theory) Is even though it is Pre Season and the games do not count as part of the system to make it to the Playoffs with wins and losses I feel teams want to win at home. Games are played in home arenas with the teams local fans and even though these games do not matter as far as regular season it matters to the teams that they win in front of a home crowd.
So with all this in mind I would wager the Cardinals Money Line +105
THE WAGER IS:
CARDINALS MONEY LINE +105
