The Outlaw Review ( This is a post of reviews on experiences we had that could be good or bad reviews)

First of all let me say I hate writing a bad review on any business or company but this week we had two experiences that deserve a look at how they operate the company. 

I would rather write a good review any day of the week but this week it was not meant to be!

My first review about our experience is a restaurant called GOLDEN CORRAL.

There are two of these restaurants in Springfield Missouri, one on 2734 N Kansas Express Way, and one on 2020 E Primrose.

It was a Friday Night and we had decided to go to the Golden Corral for a family dinner. We had a party of four. We met at the one on Primrose at 7 PM. We have never been to this restaurant before it is a buffet style restaurant. We walked into a confusing line and the first thing was drinks and utensils. 

So we grabbed our cups and utensils and headed to the cashier.

We had looked up the prices online and the online web page had the dinner priced at $13 per person. However this was not the case at all the price they charged was $17 per person, plus they added $3 for each drink we had. So the total cost without taxes was $80.00, 

We finally found a table and sat down. Our guest hit the food area and after they came back to the table we hit the food area. However in the ad they mentioned salmon, prime rib, and some other meats. Annie and I do Keto so if you like link here to our KETO GROUP KETO FOR A HAPPIER LIFE

We found no salmon or prime rib as a matter of fact it was really pathetic pickings in the food area. Annie found some chicken that was baked but only one piece  so when we asked if there would be more coming we got told that was it. We managed to find a steak, ribs, and some fruit we could eat.

At this time we got told the restaurant was going to close and the lines had gotten extremely long for any part of the food area. We did get a second round of food however in my opinion it was not worth the price!

We left a small tip only because the waiter had been really nice to us.

I feel this company needs major improvements on how to offer all you can eat. It was disappointing the prices advertised had been different, the food they advertised was incorrect, the price they list online was incorrect. Also a company that offers ALL YOU CAN EAT needs to have something for all types of diets and food restrictions.

Honestly I will not visit GOLDEN CORRAL again maybe your experience will be a bit better.

My second review is at a hotel called CHOICE HOTELS.

This one was located at 3236 W Chain of the Rocks Road, Granite City, IL.

Annie and I had planned a trip to Saint Louis to see our family and film for OUTLAW ADVENTURES.

Outlaw Adventures is a blog or vlog or whatever you want to call it plus we film on YOUTUBE.

After a long day of driving and family time Annie and I located the hotel. It was located in Illinois just about 20 minutes away from our family. Upon making the reservation I mentioned we had planned on taking our dog. It was listed as a pet friendly hotel.

Upon our arrival the staff member was outside smoking, and was dressed in clothing I cannot even begin to describe.  However we let this slide we just wanted to get in the room and relax for a while before we returned to our family.

However they charged me an extra $10 for the dog, not that made any difference. We often take our dog on trips and have become used to security deposits or an extra fee for the pet.  We entered the hotel lobby as the staff had just mopped the floor. However no signs to make the guest aware of this. I was shocked no one slipped and fell.

The clerk was not friendly at all and just asked me for my id and payment and issued us the keys. Like many places it is a card you slide into the door not an actual key. We had issues with the card but managed to finally get the room door open.

We noticed the NO SMOKING SIGN and WARNING about an additional fee if you smoke in the room, but we do not smoke. The bed spread had burns from cigarettes all over it. Even though I booked a room with a single bed we got two beds but both looked as if they had been through a battle as both beds had multiple burns and holes in the main bed spread.

My wife decided to use the microwave and it was totally gross inside, also the mini fridge was dirty as well. Upon more investigation we had no toilet paper, no towels, and the cleaning crew had left dirty towels and cleaning equipment in the bathroom.

Annie and I looked at each other and asked what one of us was going down to the desk.

Annie drew the job and I stayed in the room with the dog. After about 5 minutes Annie returned and announced the hotel asked us to leave because we had to ask the clerk for a clean room. I was stunned never had we ever been asked to leave in a situation like this we had been really polite about the whole thing.

However we packed up and returned the keys got a refund and departed the hotel.

We drove all the way back to our home that night due to the area being sold out.

I plan to write reviews on places as we visit them and it all from our experience so the reviews may be positive ones we hope or negative ones like above.
