HOW SPORTS ARE CHANGING IN 2019
Here we are entering 2019 with sports in America changing in a lot of different ways.
Seven States outside of Nevada have legalized sports wagering.
Sports leagues that fought wagering on sports are currently making deals with sports wagering companies.
HERE ARE SOME THINGS THAT HAVE CHANGED:
Some companies are on the come back like the XFL that is planning a re opening of the league in 2020.
Other leagues like the Arena Football League have fallen but still exist on some levels.
In Nascar the only woman driver Danica Patrick retired.
Some things have not changed there are no women in the NBA, MLB, NFL, or NHL or NASCAR currently.
There are women in Drag Racing, Some lower levels of Nascar, MMA, and Wrestling, and the WNBA, Soccer, Roller Derby.
Since recently the 2019 NFL Championship received the lowest ratings ever and fans complaining of boring game the fans are really speaking as to what they want and expect from sports.
Many sports are slowly deteriorating including NASCAR, BOXING, and other sports.
The sports market in North America was worth $60.5 billion in 2014.
It is expected to reach $73.5 billion in 2019
People believe NFL is the most popular sport in the world but you would be wrong it currently is SOCCER.
he Fastest Growing Sport In America Is... 1.6 million Americans played lacrosse last year according to The Sporting Goods Manufacturers Association study.
Other changes in sports that are happening and evolving in 2019:
Recently in the news Major Baseball League there is fighting between the Players Union and the League about rules changes wanted in the MLB. The Union and the League are far from coming to an agreement with the baseball season starting in April 2019.
Recently in the news NBA players are standing up and demanding to be traded, and the NBA and team owners are deciding what can not and what can be done about players demanding trades. As trade deadlines end the NBA is attempting to find answers.
Where are sports going in 2020 and beyond:
There are 2 football leagues coming in 2019 and 2020 that hope to give the NFL a run for the money.
Wrestling companies are coming and some have been around for years.
