Sports in Reno 2018 and the Future of Sports in Reno

This month is August 2018 I have been doing Outlaw Sports Entertainment Company for over 14 years at this point in time. I readily admit my sports entertainment and media company started right here in Reno Nevada in 2002. It has been a journey that took me from here to Oregon, all the way to Florida, and back to Oregon where in 2014 I actually stopped doing sports media for two years. I recently in 2018 decided to reopen Outlaw Sports Entertainment Company in Reno Nevada once again.

What does this have to do with sports in Reno Nevada?

Reno has been a hard hitter when it comes to sports I always thought Reno would be perfect for like the Arena Football League or XFL, or even some other professional sports but Reno has never gotten to the point of Professional sports and it has very limited semi professional and college sports.

If you research sports in Reno Nevada you will not find much history besides Bowling up to 2009.
The Arizona Diamond Backs landed a minor League baseball team called Reno Aces in Reno, Nevada.
From 2008 to 2018 another team called the Reno Bighorns a minor league basketball team called Reno home. Recently however the team was moved to Stockton, California.
Reno is also home to the college Nevada Wolfpack that has many different types of college sports but has been noticed for the basketball and football programs.
Reno and Tahoe host a Pro Golfing tour called the Reno-Tahoe Open.
There is also Roller Derby with two teams called Battle Born Derby Girls, and Reno Roller Girls.
Reno has hosted bowling tournaments at the National Bowling Stadium.
Reno also in 2018 added a semi professional soccer team called Reno 1868 FC.
Some sports have faded away in Reno like the West Coast Hockey League.

Reno has hosted some boxing and mma events along with several high school or college events however events are limited and do not often promoted in the area.

Reno may have some hope as recently as this month the Oakland Raiders announced that they may practice in Reno, Nevada.

Though Reno and Tahoe are home to water sports, and winter sports it just not seem Reno attracts a lot of sports or sporting events.

For some one like me it is a bit frustrating and for people who love sports and sporting events Reno may not be the place to be unless your satisfied with the current sports in the area.

I do not see much changing in the future in RENO.
