                                                Mount Vernon Apple Butter Review On Saturday October 12th 2024 my family decided to go to an event in Mount Vernon Missouri called Apple Butter Festival. For October it was pretty hot outside hitting toward the 90 degree mark. We had really wanted to go see the Wiener Dog races that was the whole reason we had decided to take the kids. I warn you if you go to this festival prepare for parking issues. However on the bright side we did not pay for parking and got a free ride on a shuttle golf cart to and from the event . This was a good thing because we had parked a long distance from the entrance.                                     RED'S HAMBURGER RESTAURANT REVIEW On October 16th 2024 we decided to try a restaurant that is a symbol of Route 66 in Springfield MO. The original restaurant stood for nearly 40 years in Springfield MO. It closed in 1984 The restaurant made a comeback with different owners in and moving locations to its current location on 2301 W Sunshine Springfield MO. on 2019 where the restaurant has been ever since. We moved here in 2020 and have driven past a million times (not really). We have driven past it quite a few times and I often wanted to visit the place but since Annie and I mostly do Carnivore I was not sure of the place offering us what we wanted to eat. Recently in my life a change happened that was not really planned by my wife Annie and I. We became foster parents to children the ages of 6 and 2 recently in July 2024.  The children are relatives from our son in law Micheal. However the children had to come through the Foster  Care Program to stay with us. The story is a bit long but to make it shorter our oldest daughter Sarah who is married to Michael (Son In Law) has had 5 grandchildren for us but 2 of the grandchildren passed shortly after birth. That is another subject for a different blog. The relative had dropped 2 of the 4 children off to live with Sarah and Micheal. Sarah and Micheal had adopted those two children. The relative however took off with the other 2 children we currently have to another State. They got into some legal trouble and the State took the children from the home and placed them into Foster Care.
